Fox Sterlingworths in 16ga. are plentiful. Anybody who has watched the vintage gun market knows the 16ga. Sterlingworth value has been discovered, all being built on the diminutive 20ga. frame. The prices have gone up significantly with really nice 16ga. guns being bought up. When you think of the high value placed on a Parker 16 "O" framed, or 20ga. framed, because of the light weight and balance, the Fox 16 is a bargain! This gun, sn353065 made in 1917, is exceptional. First, it is a hard to find EJECTOR gun. Second, it is a Philly gun made during a time when Fox was making its better guns. Third, it is unmolested lots of case color, perfect screws, superb wood to metal fit, great factory flat top checkering, mirror bores, 28" barrels choked .013/.027, or LM/F, action tight with lever way right of center, mechanically excellent in every way. Fourth, IT HAS GREAT STOCK DIMENSIONS WITH 14 1/8" LOP, 2 5/8" DAH, 1 1/2" DAC, NEUTRAL CAST. If you care about gun fit, and you should, you will find almost every Sterlingworth will have 2 7/8" to 3 1/8" drop at heel, and 1 5/8" to 1 3/4" drop at comb. This gun has modern dimensions! We did not to reblue the barrels as some shooter/collectors prefer originality. If you want a perfect rust blue on the barrels add $250 to the price. The trigger guard has 97% factory charcoal blue and looks awesome. The chambers have been lengthened to 2 3/4" and the forcing cones extended to 1 1/2" tapers, so the gun shoots better patterns with a lot less felt recoil. THIS LITTLE STERLINGWORTH HAS IT ALL AND IS A RARE FIND. It is also a VFI CERTIFIED GUN, meaning the action and ejector forend have had the internal parts removed, placed in the ultrasonic cleaner, thoroughly scrubbed cleaned, inspected for soundness, properly lubricated, and reassembled. VFI CERTIFIED GUNS come with a 90 day shooting warranty. Fox Ejector 16's will only go up in value, so this is a sound investment as well. Thanks for looking!
