Offered for your consideration is this excellent condition Winchester model 1895 in 30-40 Krag caliber. Made in 1902 it has a 28 inch barrel with very good bright bore with sharp rifling, I rate it 8.5 to 9 on a 1 to 10 scale. The barrel retains 95% blue with light scattered freckling on bottom. The receiver is mechanically excellent, feeds, chambers and ejects smoothly. There's nothing like the sound of the bolt being cycled on an 1895, sounds like a bank vault being locked up! Nice bright blue remains at 65%+ with areas trending to plum tint, I'll try to get better photos tomorrow! A Lyman #21 Receiver Sight with folding aperature is also mounted, very nice sight in excellent condition. The wood is beautiful! Buttstock and forearm are tight and solid, no cracks, chips, dents or extra holes. Wood stands proud around the tangs. Finish is 90% and the buttplate retains 95% blue. Overall an 1895 in beautiful condition that's seen very little, if any, actual use!
