We are offering for sale a WWI era COLT 1911 semi-automatic pistol chambered in .45ACP. This pistol, with serial # 417717, was manufactured in 1918 and is a Military Issued pistol marked both “U.S. ARMY” and “United States Property”. With signs of original bluing in protected areas this gun is in very nice condition and would make a wonderful addition to anyones collection. 5” barrel is very good with a bright, clean bore showing very good rifling. Slide and frame show signs of wear, age and patina. Slide is marked “Model 1911 U.S. Army” on right side; Frame reads “United States Property” on left side. Frame also has what appears to be a “S6” on left side behind trigger. Trigger guard is marked with a “41”, matching the serial number. ORIGINAL wooden double diamond grips are very good with nice authentic field wear; No breaks or cracks. Original magazine shows surface wear, oxidation. Gun functions flawlessly and has been disassembled and thoroughly oiled. This gun appears to be completely original with most parts being unmarked.
