Description:
We have had quite a few blunderbusses through here but I have never seen one quite like this. It has 8-1/4" brass bbl with an exaggerated bell on the end of it that measures a bit over 2". Bore is 66 cal or 16 ga and as mentioned this is a pinfire. Another oddity is the bbl is rifled and there is a sliding brass bar on top of the bbl which serves as a safety. When you have your pinfire shell in the chamber the bar slides over and protects the pin so you can't set it off inadvertently. Along with the bbl, the trigger guard and buttplate are brass. Frame and lock plate are iron. Equipped with a belt hook on the left side. The hammer and trigger spring are in VG condition. The brass is a little bright and may have been cleaned. The iron parts are a deep brown aged patina. The wood is VG overall. Total length is 18". This gun would have been made towards the end of the blunderbuss era.
