Fine British Flintlock BRASS Bbl. trade Pistol, c. 1770’s. 7 3/4”, round .70 cal. BRASS (barrel appears to be slightly flared). trigger guard ramrod pipes and escutcheon on stock wrist, w/ (2) English proofs and “LONDON” with some engravingon barrel, metal is very clean with almost no corrosion. Wood very good, Lock is marked “W. KETLAND & CO”, with some floral engraving on lock, tang, trigger guard; gun is 13” overall length. In good working order, locks up on full and half cock. A very nice example probably made for trade, but that could have seen service during the American Revolutionary War period. Inv# 14-53
