Description: *** SOLD *** SOLD *** 1892 Parker Brothers DH 16 gauge (serial #70732) with 28" barrels and fishtail top lever in good condition. According to the Parker letter this beautiful DH was born as a 12 gauge with 28" damascus barrels. It was ordered by the Tabb & Jenkins Hardware Co, Baltimore, MD and shipped on September 12, 1892. On November 14, 1898 the gun was returned by F.A. Vinton with a request to restock and then sent to the Baltimore Herald. It appears that it was again returned to the factory under Remington's ownership, for an apparent rebarreling to a 28" 16 gauge with 2 3/4" chambers. Remington did not put any barrel stamping on the top rib after their Parker production moved to Ilion, NY in 1938. There is a Remington RK3 date code (Nov, 1941) stamped on the barrel flats along with typical Remington barrel lug marking showing D grade 16 gauge & 2 3/4" chambers. It appears to have the original DHBP (with engraved screws) from 1892 and stock from 1898, but someone decided to add an extension to the stock. The spur cut-out still remains in the stock and someone with a little skill and time on their hands could restore this Parker to it's original configuration after locating a spurred DHBP. This old classic locks up Parker tight, bores are shiney and the Fishtail top lever adds a bit of extra class to this already renowned SxS. I'll let the pictures show you what I have to offer. As it is now, it has a 3 1/8" DAH, 14 1/2" LOP and it weighs in at 7 lb 1 oz. Being this old double was manufactured before 1898, I will ship this Parker DH directly to your door, no FFL or C&R required. $55 S&H to most of the lower 48. Eight far west states at $65 S&H.
