Top of bbl. marked "Custom Made by Tom Haas". Tom Haas owned Guns Unlimited, a firm best know for its meticulous, museum-quality repairs and restoration work on Colt revolvers. This is one of just a few rifles they made. Built on an Oberndorf small ring, short action. Custom features include jeweled bolt, extractor & carrier. Low forged bolt handle with 2 panel teardrop checkering, FN style bolt shroud, top tang safety, Canjar trigger & custom bottom metal with release inside of trigger guard. Breech & muzzle ends of bbl., scope base & rings & front swivel band have flowing floral engraving with punch dot background. Floorplate & trigger guard have vine type engraving surrounding vignettes of raised gold inlay antelope on floorplate & whitetail deer on trigger guard.
CONDITION: bbl. & action retain over 95% fine custom reblue. Floorplate has light fading blue. Excellent bore.
Monte Carlo cheekpiece stock of fancy thin shell walnut. Features include borderless point pattern hand checkering, schnabel ebony forearm tip, steel grip cap & Neidner checkered steel buttplate.. Toeline of stock has nameplate with initials "CS". Hand tooled leather sling on QD swivels. J. Unertl Hawk 4X scope with fine crosshair. Stock finish shows scattered light scratches & marks. . Overall, an exceptional, custom-built rifle in a superb caliber.
