Description:
#3790 Robert Adams 45 Cal. D.A. Percussion Revolver Marked N.Y. 5th Infantry
This Robert Adams 45 caliber D.A. percussion revolver is a really neat and unique. This is one of 1049 self-cocking revolvers purchased under contract by the U.S. Government during the Civil War. This revolver is marked N.Y. 5. The mechanical function is very crisp and tight. The bore is very good bright and shinny with only a few tiny pits. It retains over 75% original blue finish. The wood is very good without damage but some of the sharp checkering is pressed down. I found an article called Destruction of the 5th New York Zouaves, an amazing story of the carnage and suffering at the Battle of Bull Run suffered by these brave Civil War soldiers.
