EARLY WW2 REMINGTON U.S. MODEL 1903 DATED 9-42 WITH USMC HISTORY. .30-06 caliber serial numbered in the 3,226,xxx range and correct for the barrel date. Descended in the family of a WW2 Montford Point Marine to his grandson, also a Marine who we bought it from. According to the grandson it was one of group of obsolete rifles give to NCO’s after the war-his grandfather being the recipient of this one. Very good overall and with 80-90% Parkerizing. Few spots of minor salt and pepper. Stock and handguard with moderate wear. Working order and fair to good bore with some darkening. Should clean much better. Barrel with nice early Battle of Guadalcanal date. Rare provenance relating to WW2 Black Marine Corps history.
