CIVIL WAR SPRINGFIELD U.S. MODEL 1863 RIFLE MUSKET. .58 cal. 40” barrel with Springfield Armory proofs at the breech. Lock date 1863 and stamped forward of hammer “EAGLE/U.S./SPRINGFIELD”. Complete and original except the ramrod which is a correct reproduction nice aged to the guns patina. Good to very good with grey metal patina mixed with salt and pepper. Stock good with wear but nice looking. No visible cartouche. Working order with rifling worn almost smooth. Original and at a reasonable price.
