Description:
Harold Corby's one-of-a-kind model was designed by myself over 35 years ago. This knife will never be reproduced. I personally visited Harold on April 17, 2013 to pick up my knife ( it had to be shipped as I couldn't get it on the plane). Its design is based on my sketckes, and drawings and submitted it to Corby. Comes with all original sketches, drawings, and Corby's final design, ( he added some new grind and bevels to ensure full metal thickness at the ricasso). All sketches bears Harold's notes in pen, pencil, newly designed features and are dated/ signed by this great knifemaker. There is a German silver escutcheon in the center of the handle that says 1of 1. Blade is over 11" in length with a combination of rare African ebony handle and female center cut grade "A" elephant tusk ivory spacers ( the only time Corby ever manufacture such knife's handle configuration ). The large double guard is made from German silver along with Corby's own 99.99 % home-made nickel silver ferrule, collar- deep relief file work on the knife's spine. It comes with a leather scabbard covered in alligator skin. This is a stunning and astonishing piece from America's best-kept secret in the cutlery world. Harold is now fully retired. Corby's 1980 and 1990 catalogues included.
