We offer you a Winchester Repeating Arms Special Order model 1886 Saddle Ring Carbine in 40-65. This is an interesting Winchester in that it is all original and has been in the same family since purchased until now. The factory letter tells us the Carbine with serial number 121108 was built and received at the Winchester warehouse on June 8, 1900. And it was orphaned there for a little over four years until a special order came in that changed that. The special order was for a Carbine like this with the exception of a shotgun butt plate. So the Carbine was re-fitted to accommodate the order and shipped July 19, 1904 to fill that order. So we have an 1886 chambered in 40-65 with a special ordered shotgun butt plate as you see it in the pictures. The Carbine was on a ranch for a long time during the last 116 years and earned its keep. The Carbine wears a 22” barrel with a good to fine bore that is bright with strong lands and grooves with fine to moderate pitting in the grooves. The sights are original and in working condition. The barrel and magazine tube have a great deal of finish remaining with most having a patina appearance. The receiver has visible case colors as you can see in the pictures with freckling and small spots of surface pitting. The barrel and magazine tube have freckling with minor small spots of surface pitting. The forearm is solid with no chips, cracks or repairs with the original finish in very fine condition. The lever snaps closed and is tight in the movement. Overall a very fine all original example of a Winchester Special Order 1886 Saddle Ring Carbine in 40-65 with the factory letter $8,899 plus $85 shipping to your FFL or valid C&R holder. 3% convenience fee added to the total for CC payments. All firearms come with a 3-day inspection from D2D’s. Dust 2 Dollars offers layaway, email us for details. SOLD |
