Rare!!! Collectors Welcome!!! Antique WWI Period GERMAN Army sniper rifle scope Voigtländer/Braunschweig with 3X magnification .Elevation adjustment and focusing work excellent. Lenses in excellent condition without damages or cracks. Clear and Sharp View.Very rare scope I think was made between 1914 to 1918. Company Voigtländer from Braunschweig produced rifle scopes in Germany prior to World War I for use on sporting,huntig rifles.With the onset of the war, Voigtländer/Braunschweig scopes, along with many other previously manufactured sporting rifle scopes, were adapted by the German Army for use on their Scharfschutzen-Gewehr 98 Sniping Rifles. All Voigtländer /Braunschweig scopes are scarce in the USA. Sniper scope have Gewehr 98 # Gew.3803 z on main tube and names on eyepiece tube part of body,Voigtländer/Braunschweig 3X and also have front and rear claws mounts with bases(front base with saddle to install on front part of receiver or barrel) I think somebody after WWI move rear mount to addapt other rifle, but gunsmith can remove it and soldering on distance that will accept rear part of receiver to Gewehr 98 or K 98. Reticle German #1a(one sharp arrow and 3 bars-from both side and upper part) Magnification 3 X Length with sunshade 290 mm or 11.4 inches Main tube diameter 26.70 mm Eye tube diameter 38 mm Weight with mounts and bases 556 g or 19.5 ounces Excellent scope for Gewehr 98, K98 drilling, sporting and side by side collectible rifles.
