A very nice example of the #3 Sporting Model Hepburn in .40 x 2 1/2 caliber (40-70) with a 28 inch octagon barrel. The bore is in like new condition, and the exterior retains approximately 75% of its original finish. The action is tight and the stock and forearm are sound with no cracks. This model was produced from 1883 to 1907, but this gun with a low four digit serial number is an antique, manufactured around 1890. Overall, it is in excellent original condition.
