HERE IS THE VERY COOLEST ‘POCKET GANGSTER GUN’ OF THE ‘20s’. S# range is 41XXX. The caliber is the now obsolete COLT .38 automatic – not to be confused with the less powerful current .380 ACP. This classic Browning design in good condition today is getting scarcer to find. It was the Colt ‘Commander’ of its day! This piece has most of the original bright REAL blue – with the only flaws being cosmetic ‘freckling’. This condition is NOT rust spots of ANY KIND! It is NOT brown – it is NOT patina – it is NOT ‘frosting’ - it is NOT metal corrosion of ANY KIND. This can be caused by a splatter of tiny beadlets of a mild acid like vinegar. Yes – vinegar - will effectively remove bluing and not even tarnish the exposed metal. The total area of these tiny spots is certainly less than 5% of the finish. The actual finish coverage is about 90% with some holster bright wear on edges. Blue book 95% shows $2750. The bore is as pristine as new. The grips show no wear but the right side does have a very small chip on the bottom border edge about the volume of a flattened out large grain of rice. The pictures tell the story.
