Only the super-scarce ejectorless 7-1/2” length is rarer than the ejectorless 6", but rarely are either seen (if at all) except at the biggest, most prestigious gun shows. VG action and is functioning well both on S/A and D/A, with VG bore. Exterior retains 60-70% original nickel blending into smooth grey metal. Another rarity is the fact that this has the much desired “38-COLT D.A.” etched panel still faintly visible, and this feature was pretty much obsolete by the late 1880s. VG+ standard two-piece checkered hard rubber grips that fit well and most likely are the originals. They have about 10-20% wear but no chips or cracks and are in total character with the revolver. This is a very, VERY scarce long barreled ejectorless Lightning that should make a fine addition to a Colt D/A collection (….especially since the 1877 was the first model of the Colt D/As!!) and comes with the Colt factory letter which is now over $100 just by itself. About Fine-Fine+ as described. $2195 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Antique: Yes |
