This is an early Remington Model 740 Semi Auto Standard Grade Rifle - the forerunner of the famous Model 742. Rifle is overall excellent condition with a perfect bore and chamber, retaining most all original blue, etc. Stock & forearm are American Walnut without checkering (see photos). Original aluminum buttplate. Quality on this rifle is far superior to what they make today.
