Description:
A really nice example of a rare Martial Colt 1851 Navy. The caliber is .36 and bore excellent. The mechanics are fine and and safety pins are present. Indexing is perfect. The cylinder scene is 95% although a bit faint. The barrel address is fine(NY) but the patent date is scratched out in part with the US(still visible)..perhaps indicates a southern captured gun. The single cartouche on the right grip is that of Ainsworth. He typically only marked only one grip. The grips are fineSN 67XXX all matching including wedge and arbor pin. Basic color of the gun is gray.
Crisp example of a rare martial Navy. That may have been a southern captured weapon. REDUCED!!!
