Winchester 1866 First Model Flatside SRC .44 RF, s/n 14951 mfg. 1867 - 20" Henry marked round barrel, full magazine, early style flat loading gate with retaining spring catch, early type flip-up rear sight with 100, 300, 500 graduations (later sights were marked 1, 3, 5) integral front barrel band sight, early style crescent buttplate, early coarse checkered hammer, early small loop lever, slightly figured walnut stocks, correct short three segment cleaning rod in buttstock. Receiver and buttplate retain a lovely dark mustard patina, barrel and magazine retain 80% blue thinning and turning plum patina with slight pitting at the muzzle; hammer, lever, and barrel bands have a nice plum patina, stocks retain a high degree of original finish and show only minor handling marks, excellent wood to metal fit, mechanics are crisp, bore is bright and rates an 8+ on a scale of 1 to 10, all numbers match. Very rare and highly collectable 1866 First Model Flatside SRC.
