General Specs: LC Smith, Year 1922, 20 Gauge, 6lbs 1oz, SxS Serial Number: FWE 49376 Here we have a very rare L.C. Smith in the 20ga. Eagle Grade. When I say rare, I mean there are likely less than 65 of these guns left in the world. Odds are there are fewer, and of those that remain many have been bastardized in some way, ie cut stocks or barrels, restocked, poorly refinished, etc. This Eagle Grade Elsie, snFWE49376 made in 1922, is one of 76 total Eagles produced in 20ga. and is in very fine condition with all original parts as shipped. You will see the factory letter attached to the photos, describing this gun as she sits. With the gorgeous European walnut and handsome, unique engraving, it is a stunning gun to have in hand. The wood has been restored at some point in its life, the barrel blue is a strong 99%, factory case color 50% and fading, screws are perfect, no cracks or repairs to the wood, checkering sharp and clean, bores are mirror shiny, the factory original 26" barrels are choked M/F with healthy wall thicknesses of 24 thou right, 25 thou left. The L.C. Smith guns are wonderful handling guns with this one weighing just 6lbs. and balanced perfectly between the hands. The ejectors are strong and well timed and the gun is tight on face with the lever well right of center. The Hunter One Trigger works perfectly and the trigger pulls are crisp at 3.25lbs. right, 4.25 left. This is a grand investment opportunity to put some of your funds into hard, tangible assets that you can enjoy shooting at the local club or afield for upland birds. Hunting with a gun like this elevates the experience in a way you have to experience to understand. The history behind the gun, the hand fitting and balancing, and the gorgeous fit and finish all come together in this rare and delightful little Elsie. Thanks for looking!
