SALE PENDING Winchester Pre-War Model 70 Super Grade chambered in 30-06 Gov't. This Super Grade was special ordered and left the factory in 1941 before we entered WW2. This is a very high condition Model 70 and I have the original reciepts, return Letter from Winchester and the original Western Union wire reciept when the rifle was shipped listing it as a Super Grade with Lyman 48 Receiver Sight installed from the factory. The gentleman who ordered it was a Professor at Cornell University, Colonel C.I. McClure and he became the Commandant of the Chinese Artillery Training Center in the Burma/China Theatre of Operations after he received the rifle and was shipped out. I have the provenance and paperwork as I described above plus, the original manual, hang tag, leather sling and super swivels. This fine Super Grade is in 99% condition exactly as it left the factory and would be very hard to upgrade. A fine investment grade Pre-War Super Grade for the advanced Model 70 collector.
