Description:
Original pre 1900 vintage holster with double loops over the pouch. The front surface of the holster shows no drying or cracking and is very soft and pliable. Color is dark russet with good original luster. The leather is holding its shape and the stitching is tight with none missing . This holster was offered by catalog houses in the late 19th century. Has a wonderfully boarder rolleddesign. The holster maker is unknown, but was very well executed with a sewn closed toe. This holster fits a 5 1/2 or 6 inch barreled, Frontier big bore revolvers, such as the Colt SAA, Smith & Wesson Double Action Frontier or Merwin Hulbert. The piece has a gracefully re-curved throat profile. The main seam is sewn and all stitches are tight. Has very nice age patina with no cracks, rips or tear. Will provide many years of service or just use it for display as I did.
