Smith Field Grade 12 Gauge SxS FACTORY MINT GUN, 99% +++ General Specs: LC Smith, Year 1948, Gauge, 7lbs 1oz, Side-by-Side Serial Number: FWS32468 RARE GUN!!! ONE OF 127,255 EVER MADE! I just had to do that...I do have a lot of rare guns I list, but this is not one of them. The only thing special about this one is that it is completely factory original and a bold, vivid, 99% overall condition. Made in 1948 after Marlin Arms took over the Hunter Arms Co., Inc., snFWS32468 is a Field Grade that must have been used just a little and then put away, as it has just the slightest thinning of blue around the forend area, and the rest looks near new. Weighing just 7lbs. and nicely balanced with 26" barrels, a full length unaltered stock with great modern shooting dimensions, this is a gun that could be used to measure what a L.C. Smith should look like as a new gun. The action is tight as new on the hinge pin and breech face, all mechanics are as new, and there is nothing wanting on the gun. Being a 12ga. it is an affordable and fine example of the quality known on the vintage American guns from the days when makers still cared. Made in the same factory and by the same people that was Hunter Arms Co., Inc. and the last of the great L.C. Smiths before the collapse of the factory floor and end of production in 1949.
