Description:
Serial #63491, .357 Magnum, 6 1/2” heavy target barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a handsome revolver, built on a British proofed frame with partially visible “(crown)/V” London view proof on the left side of the frame at the barrel breech. The barrel is marked “J.E. CLARK/SHREVEPORT, LA.” on the left side just ahead of the frame. The metal retains 99% of a matte black, Du-Lite finish on the frame, while the cylinder and barrel retain a commensurate amount of crisp blue. The muzzle has slight silvering at the sides and there is a faint turn-ring on the rear of the cylinder. The oversize checkered target stocks are in excellent shape with some minor handling marks visible in the dark brown finish and some very mild flattening of the points. The lock-up and timing are excellent and the revolver functions flawlessly. This is a handsome large frame Colt revolver by one of the best known American gunsmiths and would make a great addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
