#51549, A Winchester Pre-64 Pre-War Model 70 Chambered to a 270 Win. and built as a custom rifle with a 22" barrel, The barrel is a custom Douglass Air Gauge stainless steel barrel, It is installed to an original 1946 Model 70 action, No barrel open sights, Redfield 1 piece scope base, 3 position Model 70 wing safety, Model 70 trigger, Standard Model 70 floorplate and trigger guard, A nice Classic custom stock by an unknown stocker with very nice inletting inside and out, Claro Walnut stock with good figure, Point pattern checkering, Rosewood forend tip, Rosewood grip cap, Cheekpiece, 13 5/16" LOP over a 7/8" Noshoc pad, 7 lbs. 8 oz., The bore is excellent plus and looks like new, The overall condition on both metal and wood is 94% since built as a custom. I can assure you this was not the stocker's first attempt at custom stocking a bolt rifle. It has nice workmanship along with the classic lines of what an American classic styled bolt rifle is all about. This gun was owned by a rifleman that said it has good accuracy.
