#103835, Scott Criddle / Riflemaker (Idaho Falls, Idaho): A Complete and Total Scott Criddle Custom 338 Winchester Magnum on a FN Mauser Action from Sako with a 22" barrel, Island rear sight with a fixed standing sight, Barrel band swivel, 2-position wing safety, Adjustable Timney trigger, Blackburn deep belly magazine, Straddle hinged floorplate with a center bow release, A true Classic stock by Criddle, A very nice piece of walnut that has great contrast of black & brown, Ebony forend tip, Very well cut shadowline cheekpiece, A slight recessed full wrap around fleur-de-lis checkering pattern with extensive carved ribbons, 2 screw tiedown sling eye aft, Steel grip cap, Excellent inletting plus it is nicely glass bedded the entire way including the magazine well, 8 lbs. 5 oz., 13 1/2" LOP over a trapdoor checkered butt that holds 3 separated cartridges, The original satin blue overall remains at 88%, The original stock finish is at 88%, The checkering remains at 97%, The bore is excellent. This gun has detail one looks for in a great American Classic, both screws in the sling eye lay north & south as do the screws in the grip cap as well as the guard screws. I can assure you the checkering is not without detail as is the inletting. It is an accurate rifle. There was a grain separation at the toe of the stock that was secured at the time of stocking.
