SCARCE HOPKINS & ALLEN XL NO. 4 N.Y. .38RF CAL. POCKET REVOLVER CIRCA 1870’S. 5 shot single action spur trigger revolver with 3” octagon barrel. Top strap stamped “XL NO. 4 N.Y.” and barrel stamped “HOPKINS & ALLEN MFG. CO./PAT. MAR. 28, 1871”. Handsome largest size with larg bird’s head rosewood grips. Traces of original blue finish on barrel and cylinder. Hammer even has original case hardening. Grips with nice original piano finish. Excellent example. Working order and nice bore and chambers. Early 1870’s Frontier era revolver at a reasonable price.
