PRE WW1 WM. HORSTMANN & COMPANY U.S. MODEL 1902 ARMY
OFFICER’S SWORD AND SCABBARD. 38” o/a with 32” nickel plated blade engraved and etched with floral and martial motifs including a fine “E. PLURIBUS UNUM” Eagle and a very fine gothic “U.S.” in panel. Nickel plated brass hilt with bone grip. Partial leather portapee. Nickel plated steel scabbard. Blade stamped on ricasso with guild “PREVED/P” star and nice Wm. Horstmann & Co. trademark. Extra nice condition with all the original plating except one small spot on the reverse of the scabbard. Should clean up even better. Has all the blade polish and a perfect bone grip. Only shows light carry use. Nice condition for a pre WW1 example dating to the Mexican Punitive Expedition period.
