FRENCH DRAGOON TROOPER’S SWORD AND SCABBARD DATED APRIL 1880. 43” o/a with 36 ½’ single edged blade with single broad fuller. Back of blade engraved ‘MRE D’ARME DE CHATA-AVRIL 1880=DRAGON”. Original leather washer. Excellent plus to near mint attic condition overall. Has the original brush polish on blade and the original leather grip wrap and wire. Unpolished brass hilt and steel scabbard. Really nice and will clean to very near mint. Still in use in the early part of WW1.
