For sale, a very scarce variant of the Hi Standard Sentinel .22 revolver. This Sentinel has a 2 and 3/8ths inch barrel and has a factory blue finish. This particular Sentinel was called the R-105 model. The R-105s were originally made for Sears but were returned to Hi Standard when Sears dropped thier handgun line in 1963. These R-105s were then re-barreled with a barrel that had the Hi Standard name on them, and the grips were also swapped out to these one piece black plastic grips. These R-105s retained the distinctive J.C. Higgins style cylinder flutes, trigger guard, and cylinder pin making them different from the other Hi Standard branded revolvers. This example, serial number 1258953, is in excellent shape. I would rate the blue/black finish at 98%. The only spots where the finish has been thinned is the drag line around the cylinder, and the crease on the frame where the cylinder makes contact when swung out for loading/ejecting cartridges. The bore and cylinder bores are bright and pristine. The rifling looks sharp and clean. The one piece black plastic grips are in excellent shape as well. There are no cracks, repairs, or signs of wear of any kind. The gun functions 100% as it should in single action or double action. This Hi Standard Sentinel would be a great addition to any collection and would be nearly impossible to upgrade! $450
