Description:
Two sets of 23" tapered round barrels with detented-hooded full-band front sights, full-band swivel bases, recoil lugs, 1 standing and 2 folding express sights engraved for 100, 200 and 300 yards, (the .338 lined in platinum, the .416 lined in gold), on full-band island bases. Highly figured English walnut stock with ebony forend tip, modified Deeley forend release/barrel-lock, engraved recoil crossbolt, classic wrap-around point-pattern checkering with mullered borders, steel trapdoor pistol grip cap, double-beaded pancake cheekpiece, rear swivel stud, cartridge trap and solid black rubber recoil pad. Brazilian 1908 contract DWM Mauser action with hand-scraped bolt, four-panel checkered bolt knob, Model 70-type safety, Timney trigger, lightened magazine box, and Blackburn-style bottom metal with hinged straddle floorplate and release inside triggerguard. Two Leupold Vari-X III 1.5-5x scopes with duplex reticles on claw mounts engraved separately for each barrel. Pull: 13 5/8". Weight: 9lbs, 7oz as a scoped .338 Mag. All in Huey oak and leather trunk case with canvas overcase. A serious piece of gunmaking. Little used and with excellent bores.
