Spencer Model 1865 Carbine 50 Caliber 16-15
 
 Spencer Model 1865 Carbine 50 Caliber, 20” barrel. Standard Markings on top of the receiver: Spencer Repeating Rifle Company/Pat March 6, 1860 M1865 on bbl. Walnut stock with light varnish finish. Small swivel device known as the “Stabler Cutoff” added forward of the trigger to allow use as a single shot (keeps breech from opening completely). (See Flayderman page 633). Serial number #7847.
 
Condition: Metal is very clean and has almost no corrosion. Barrel and sight are untouched, lightblue, some turning brown, uncleaned, Almost no rust or corrosion, some light case hardening on receiver, breach block, lock, lever, trigger plate, and butt plate, but has mostly silvered out to a bright smooth finish with little or no corrosion. Wood is in excellent condition with only a few very small dings. Screws are all in excellent condition and none of them have been buggered. Bore has 50% of rifling. Works perfectly mechanically, overall a very attractive, FINE Spencer. (16-15) $2,500.00
