#295878, A Winchester Pre-64 Model 70 Chambered to a 375 H&H, The action was made in 1954 as a long action in either 300 H&H or 375 H&H, 24" barrel; NECG island adjustable rear sight, barrel band swivel and band front ramp, Standard Pre-64 3 position Model 70 wing safety, Model 70 trigger, Blackburn style floorplate & trigger guard with a hinged straddle floorplate with a center bow release, Built up and checkered bolt stop release, Anti bind sleeve on the bolt body, Talley scope bases, 4 panel teardrop bolt knob checkering, A nice custom stock by J. A. Kobe (James), Very nice wood with nice color & contrast, Pillar bedded, Cross bolts, Complete glass bedding, Point pattern wrap around checkering, Ebony forend tip, Steel grip cap, Shadow line cheekpiece, Two screw sling eye on the stock, 13 7/8" LOP over a 1" pad, 8 lbs. 13 oz., The bore is excellent plus and looks new, The overall condition on both metal and wood is 95% since built as a custom with typical hunting marks. I can assure you this was not James Kobe's first attempt at custom stocking a bolt rifle. It has nice workmanship along with the checkering being very well cut.
