WW2 1942 WINCHESTER U.S. M1 OR M-1 CARBINE. Serial number "1,196,xxx" circa 1942. Later given to Norway for Coastal Artillery as denoted by "K. art." stamp forward of rear sight. Parkerized finish. Barrel not marked save 'Davidson's…" import stamp. High gloss applied to stock(beautiful piece of walnut) that has 'Trimble, TN" stamped in sling cut-out. Bayonet lug. Almost no signs of use. Stock retaining band stamped "AI". Front sight with "N" and rear sight 'I.R. Co. and "7160060". Four groove rifling crisp and bright. Given to Norway during the Cold War. "SI" stamped oiler and canvas sling.
