If you are looking for a super example of the very early high polish AC P-38, this gun fits that requirement.
This gun retains about 98% of the original high polish blue. The loss is your typical, yet mild, holster wear. The muzzle and sharp edges have silvered slightly. There are no pits or rust on the slide or frame. The plum colored barrel, muzzle and the bottom edge of the left side of the frame do have some very small patches of light surface pin pricks.
The slide is correctly stamped Eagle/359, Eagle/Swastika, Eagle/359. The frame, Eagle/359. All parts match and are correct for the gun.
The grips are the proper mottled dark brown composition and are truly perfect. No splits or chips. The grip screws are unmarred.
The gun locks up tight functions properly. The bolt face, slide rails and feed ramp show very little use.
The bore is mirror bright with very sharp crisp rifling and possibly a hint of graying. It is, like the rest of the gun, showing the very slightest amount of use.
