Description:
***   $2,000 REDUCTION   ***   A magic wand in the hand of the expert gunner this beautiful Thomas Wild 28 bore can’t wait to be taken afield. The frame has most of its original case colors and the 28” barrels have been professionally reblacked. With its filed fences and Best grade engraving this is quite a nice gun done up in the London style. It also has a long length of pull somewhat of a rarity for English smallbores. Made in the early 1950’s. it features traditional double triggers and appears to have been shot very little.   ***   The 28” nitro steel barrels are chambered for 2-1/2” cartridges and have auto ejectors and are topped by a smooth concave game style rib. The rib is marked “T. Wild Whittal Street Birmingham”. The bores are shiny and in perfect condition. Chokes are Skeet and Improved Cylinder, ideal for quail and woodcock.   ***   The straight grip stock and splinter forearm are made of nicely figured walnut. The finish is excellent as is the checkering which is of the flat diamond style preferred by London makers. There is a blank initial plate. Stock dimensions are 15” including a 1-1/2” leather covered recoil pad by 1-7/16” by 1-7/8”. Cast off for the right hand shot.   ***   Buyer is responsible for all shipping, insurance and related charges. I give a three-day non-firing inspection and will only accept returns if gun is not as described. Always use sensible low pressure ammunition such as RST shotshells in older and antique shotguns.  A beautiful and sweet handling English smallbore in high condition. Life is short. You know what to do.
