Enfield Mk4 No.1 Sniper. Cal.303, ser. AR1046.
Awesome and totally correct. The rifle, scope, mount, proper stock, cheek piece, scope can and transit chest.... All original and 100% correct. The rifle retains about 85-90%% of the original wartime finish. Some parts are black painted, the bulk, various shades of blue. All of which is correct. The small finish loss that there is, is due to light wear and edge silvering. There are no rust or pits anywhere. The frame is stamped No. 4 Mk 1 T (Telescope) The receiver ring and stock band is stamped M47/1943, AR1046/ "TR'(Telescope) All of these markings are precisely correct for the sniper. The receiver serial number and the bolt match. The rear leaf sight has not been removed. All the wood parts, including the cheekpiece are a deep colored walnut and beautifully matched. The wood is surprisingly nice, no splits or chips missing, there are just two surface pressure marks on the left side. The toe of the stock has the correct "S 5!" stamp indicating that this a correct Holland and Holland tested and assembled Sniper. Its buttstock is numbered 8535. The entire front stock is numbered to the gun, AR 1046. The condition of the wood shows that the gun has seen very little use. The wood stock and the barrel are covered the usual British proofs, tonnage marks and inspector's stamps. The scope is marked TEL.SIG.No. 32 MK III,/ OS 2039/AK & S No. 17476/1945/ with a Broad arrow proof. The scope rings are numbered top and bottom E9 & E10. The scope mount is marked, front leg N92, rear leg AQ9344, struck thru and renumbered, I 696 I . This too is correct. The cross hair and post reticle is perfect, the lenses bright and clear with no fogging. The scope and the mount still have 95% of the original blue finish. The scope can is totally correct with all the proper parts and contractor information. It is not numbered to the scope. The interior does indeed still have the instruction sheets. It retains about 95% of the original green paint. The transit chest does show some damage to the lid at one end, and the leather handles gone from aging. However, the original instruction sheets on the lid are still present. Now for those still with me, we saved the best part for last. The bore is outstanding. It is mirror bright with very well defined razor sharp rifling. This is a guaranteed 100% correct Holland and Holland assembled sniper rig. It should be a king at the sniper show or at a sniper shoot. ... $4995.
