Description:
Collection 5 Antique 19th Century African spears and one trident.  This is part of a large collection of antique African weapons, masks, etc. that I bought from a guy who was working in South Africa during the 1950s and 1960s.  These are authentic antiques.  The collection comprises two long spears, one 71 inches long, the other 69 inches long, with spear tips 12-1/2 and 12 inches, respectively.  Both of these are alike, having dark wood shafts with tightly wrapped basket weave type at the junction of the head and also in bands at intervals down the shaft (6 bands). There is also a fancy trident 65 inches long with a three barbed fancy engraved head 18-3/4 inches long.  This is made of lighter wood and has no bands.  There are two shorter spears, one has a very old 4 sided head held with an old nail.  It is 49 inches long with a tip 12 inches long (including harft). It is wrapped in snakeskin for the first 9-1/4 inches, then hide wrapped with a sewn seam 15 inches, then snake skin again near the rear for 9-1/4 inches. All four of these had a likely iron tail finial which are all now missing, leaving unfinished and not very worn wood which had been covered with the finials.  The 5th spear is 52-1/4 inches long.  The head is spear point with very slight raised center on a long iron shaft, the whole being 11-2/3 inches.  Where the head meets the light tan wood shaft it is wrapped with basket weave type material for 5-1/2 inches.  The butt curves outward so that it is of wider diameter than the main shaft.  Very nice set. Don’t want to separate.  Obviously this will take an oversize box or boxes to ship. I have shipped qantique rifles and muskets this long through the post office, so assume can ship these too.  Will pack very carefully.  Likely will take two boxes.  $65 Shipping & Insurance.  (If my estimate is over by more than a buck of so, I will refund the excess.) I take paypal, bank check or money orders.
