Description:
This 8.5 inch double edged dagger features a 4.5 inch blade, German silver hardware and mother-of-pearl scales. Both sides of blade are marked with makers name; the company was in Derbyshire, England from 1852-1860. The blade is quite pitted with makers name visible on both sides, the German silver hardware shows great yellow-silver patina with dents and dings from use. Grips show wear and scratches. This comes in a sheath with German silver throat, missing tip, with red body showing gilt edge pattern. A very nice example of a British 1850's dirk equally at home in Whitechapple or on the Mississippi.
