Description:
ONE OF THE BEST 1884 TRAPDOOR SADDLE RING CARBINES I'VE OFFERED IN A LONG TIME! This one in the 370XXX range was made in 1887 and has a sharp matching 1887 dated S.W.P. cartouche in the stock, exc. barrel blue with only a couple of old rub spots, deep blue on the trigger guard and barrel band, correct "C" marked Buffington carbine rear sight, deep "inky" oil quenched case hardening that looks like blue on the lock plate and hammer, still retains nice light case color on the breech block that appears to have remnants of dried grease over much of it! Exc. bore and wood, just a super cavalry carbine from the late Indian Wars period, very hard to find like this
