Pet. Dan Krebs, Solingen , crabshield trade mark. Under provisions of the decree of 17 june 1936 Reichsfuher-ss Heinrich Himmer assumed full power over the entire German police organization and as such many members of this had duel membership policy . This nickel plated sword is in above good condition, the under-side of the cross guard is stamped with the SS RUINS -with in a octagonal proof mark. The black wooden grip shows some color wear, The white leather bufferis in near mint condition. The throat of the scabbard again has the octagonal box with the SS- RUINS on the throat. The silver eagle in the handle grip is perfect, The silver on the throat of the scabbard is perfect with a nice patina on both. The scabbard is dent free, with the original black enamel paint 90% with a tiny bit of paint loss on the drag. This sword has the screws of the original SS scabbard, not the police that was sweated on, so Ibelive this is an original SS SCABBARD. Much of the factory darkening is stll in the recesses of the raised guilloche design on the upper fitting and incised lines on the lower fitting. This sword is in above good condition, the blade is in above good condition with one tiny thin spot on the plating that effects nothing.
