In the world of Parkers the 28 gauge is the Holy Grail. In fact, when considering any vintage American double gun, the 28ga. is most desirable as only Parker and Ithaca made guns in this diminutive gauge. I believe there are more shooters searching for the 28ga. than the .410 as the 28 ga. is so much more capable when chasing upland birds and game. Only 1411 28ga. VH grade Parkers were produced, with at least 1/3 of them being made on the 20ga. or "O" frame and hence heavy and less desirable. DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE OF COMPARING THIS GUN TO A HEAVY "0" FRAMED GUN. So, less than 1000 VH guns on the "OO" frame, with only 503 with the most desirable 28" barrels makes this a rare gun. Most in the Parker world are aware of the reputation garnered by Doug Turnbull Restorations as the premier restoration artist when it comes to Parker colors, and his organization restored these case colors to PARKER FACTORY PERFECTION. This fine Parker, sn226841 made in 1928 has been nicely restored with 99% awesome rust blue on the barrels, wood nicely restored, perfect screws, no cracks or repairs, all a very nice looking Parker. Weighing 5lbs. 8oz. with its 28" barrels choked LM/IM and balanced dead on the hinge pin, it is a delight in hand. She has mirror bores, 99% wood finish, perfect mechanics including tight as new on hinge and breech face, 99% trigger guard blue...simply a gorgeous little Parker. The gun came to us with the vintage Hawkins pad Everybody in today's world prefers the 28" barreled guns and they are vary hard to find in combination with the 28ga. and "00" frame. Priced affordably it is the perfect quail/woodcock/grouse gun or a challenge for larger upland game. What a great, investment quality Parker 28ga. that will grow in value as you enjoy its use.
