Description:
Serial #01222880, .32-20, 10 3/4” half-octagon target barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is an RPM-made pistol that has a mixed brushed and bright stainless steel frame with blued tip-up barrel. The barrel is equipped with adjustable target rear sight with high front blade and retains close to all of the original blue finish with only some hints of fading at the muzzle, as well as along edges of the half-length rib atop the breech-end. There are some scattered minor surface blemishes on the frame but all of the factory markings are still crisp and clear. The original tropical hardwood grips are in excellent shape with a few negligible handling marks, and the integral thumb safety has some darkening around the shallow waffle texturing along the top surface. The lock-up and mechanism are solid and fully functional. These pistols, the brainchild of an Iowa farmer named Rex Merrill, gained popularity in the '80s for hunting and silhouette shooting. This example was made after the purchase of the rights to the design by Rock Pistol Manufacturing Co. and was made in RPM's Fullerton, CA factory prior to their move to Tuscon, AZ. These pistols are renowned for their accuracy and still much prized today. This example, chambered in a fabulous easy-shooting cartridge, is in excellent overall condition. FFL
