We offer you a Winchester model 1873 that was received in the Winchester warehouse on October 26, 1876, which very soon will be 140 years ago!! This was a family gun from purchase until being offered here on Guns International. Being made in 1876 makes this a first model and these have no caliber markings. It wears a 28” octagon barrel in .44-40 a.k.a 44 WCF. The barrel finish has turned a patina color and the metal is in above average condition as you can see. The sights appear to be the original and correct ones. It wears a single set trigger which is confirmed by the factory letter as being shipped with. The stocks have had a coat of varnish added some time ago by the look of it. However, the stocks are both very fine with no chips, cracks or repairs. One of the best features on this rifle is a very fine bore. There are very strong lands and grooves; it is bright with very minor pitting is areas. The lever snaps closed and stays tight against the frame also. The pictures show the description and overall it is in very fine condition and complete with the factory letter. $3,750 plus $75 shipping to you where allowed. This is considered an “Antique” by the BATF and no FFL is needed t0 purchase. 3% SOLD Antique: Yes |
