Description:
Serial #127560, .22 RF, 3 3/16” barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some mild freckling within the grooves. This little tip-up revolver has matching assembly numbers on the frame, cylinder, and barrel with the metal retaining 80-85% of the original nickel finish that has flaked along the front of the cylinder, particularly around the edges of the flutes, on the ejector rod, and on either side of the barrel hinge. The underlying metal is a mottled gray color where it is exposed, and there are some shallow impact marks on either side of the barrel hinge as well. The hammer has muted, but still visible, color case-hardening, and the smooth rosewood grips are numbered to the gun on the interior. The lock-up is still fairly firm, and there is a small amount of lateral ply in the barrel. This is a nice little No. 1 Smith & Wesson in good-near very good condition. Antique
