NAPOLEONIC WARS ERA ORNATE SPANISH NAVAJA FOLDING FIGHTING KNIFE CIRCA 1800-1815. 24” o/a with 12” hilt and 12” blade. Ornate bone grip panels with polychrome and etched floral and classical motifs and with mother of pearl diviiders. Steel mounts and lanyard ring. Metal with dark patina and pitting minor tip loss but easily repointed. The classic knife of Andalusia and widely used is Spain and Portugal during the 18th and 19th Centuries. During the Peninsula War Napoleonic forces executed Spaniards found with them in their possession. Very handsome.
