BARBARY WARS ERA ALGERIAN MIQUELET LOCK KABYLE GUN WITH LONG BARREL CIRCA 1800-1815. 70” o/a with 58” smoothbore octagon .72 caliber barrel. Full length wood stock with intricate carving on the butt. Engraved brass mounts with 35 engraved brass barrel bands. Ornate brass and steel nock with fine floral engraving. Engraved brass side plate. Both the carving on the stock and engraving on the metal are of excellent quality-much better than average on these. Complete lock with the original parts and in working order. Type used by the Barbary Pirates at the time of their wars with the United States.
