Barrel is 12” and is a .56 caliber. It conforms to typical pattern 1756/77 Sea Service Pistol specifications. Pistol has the traditional walnut stock and brass furniture, including the original belt hook stamped with a “6” above royal crown. “P” with what appears to be a crown is also stamped into wood above belt hook. Proof marks are also evident under ramrod. Traditional GR with Crown and broad arrow with crown under pan on side plate and Tower proof with no date are also on the side plate. Initials WC stamped on stock which may be the locksmith initials. Also, W.A. carved into wood near trigger guard. This pistol dates between 1777 and 1801. This pistol is in very good condition and will add great historical significance to any collection.
