Description:
Serial #689, .30 RF, 3” barrel with a very good, lightly freckled bore. This is a handsome and rare little revolver, one of only about 1,000 made, that has much of the original bright blue finish remaining, especially noticeable on the barrel and cylinder, with specks of mild, evenly distributed freckling throughout. The balance of the metal has begun to turn a dusky, plum-brown color speckled with further patches of mild freckling. The walnut grips are in very good shape with scattered light handling marks and bruises, although there is a small section missing from the top of the left panel where it meets the frame. The revolver is mechanically sound and is in very good condition overall. These attractive little revolvers were an infringement on Smith & Wesson's Rollin White patent, and later production revolvers will be so marked, this example, however, does not have the S&W patent date added. This is a very nice example of a very scarce American revolver. Antique
