Description:
Fox AE Grade 16 Gauge Side-by-Side
28" #3 WT BARRELS, NICE CLEAN GUN

General Specs: AH Fox, Year 1921, 16 Gauge, 6lbs 1oz, SxS
Serial Number: 301267

The demand for small bore Fox guns has never been more intense.  Try and find a really nice, unmolested Fox graded 16 or 20 and you will see few that aren't buggered up in one way or another.  The Fox 16ga., built on a 20ga. frame, has earned it the reputation as being the finest handling of all American doubles, and this gun is no exception.  With the lightweight 28" number 3 weight barrels it weighs in at 6lbs. 1oz.. and balances perfectly between the hands.  This is what most upland shooters consider to be the perfect weight; not too light with enough weight for a smooth swing, but an easy carry for a long day afield.  This fine PHILLY FOX is in nice original condition, with perfect screws, superb wood to metal fit, 97% factory blue, factory choked at M/F (.015/.023), about 75% factory case color (fading but there).  Many are unaware that less than 2500 A Grade 16's were produced, and most of the good ones are in safes and will not be offered for sale anytime soon.  Built in 1921, this Philly Fox, serial number 301267 is one of a dwindling number or really great original guns.  The value of Fox shotguns continues to climb and with the general high condition, this is a very sound investment vessel in which to plant some of your savings.  Carrying a fine little Fox like this over hill and dale after grouse, woodcock, pheasant and other upland game will be a delight for the next owner.  At the end of the day you will appreciate the light weight and balance.  What a fun gun for shooting sporting clays as well!  Thanks for looking, and don't let this one get away.  It is near impossible to find them this nice.
